Wood & Archer- Weapons that may worry Windies!
Jofra Archer and Mark Wood are two of the quickest bowlers in world cricket. Even though they both have emerging careers, recent spells that they have bowled suggest that they are becoming extremely effective and devastating if the they find the right rhythm.
Will England play both together? This is highly unlikely with Woakes, Anderson and Broad to choose from. Good pace troubles any batman and maybe England should try this combination. Wood has improved and has displayed better control than previously and is falling over less at the bowling crease.
Jofra in his young career has shown immaculate control and composure. He has been given great responsibility as a junior member of the side. He was the man that was trusted with the super over at the World Cup. Jofra might even have a point to prove to his fellow Bajans such as Braithwaite, Chase, Hope,Dorwich and Holder. If he does prove the point, West Indies will have some problems. West Indies need to plan properly for Archer, frustrate him and allow him to make mistakes.
Anderson and Broad are legendary bowlers with prodigious skill but at this juncture in their careers they lack pace and stamina. It is the emerging pair of Archer and Wood that Windies must meticulously plan for.
